Cow's colostrum is a form of milk produced by the mammary glands of cows a few days after giving birth. It is rich in healthy nutrients such as protein, calcium and Vitamins A, B1, B2, B12, C, D, E. Colostrum also contains immune factors and growth factors that aid in children's growth.
a) Immune Factor - Other than human's colostrum, cow's colostrum is the only natural source that is rich in immune factors. 5 common immunoglobulins are IgG, IgA, IgD, IgE and IgM. The nutrition value of IgG is especially high, accounting for 86% in cow's colostrum - that is 50 times higher than that of normal cow's milk. It could substitute part of the IgA function of human's milk. Calcium content is 2 times higher than that of normal cow's milk. Thus colostrum is effective in defending against bacteria, boosting the immune system of children, and reducing the chances of getting ill. Furthermore, it eliminates toxin in the intestine and promotes absorption of nutrients.
